Music opens up a world of new possibilities for people of all ages. Studying the piano allows students to understand fully this wonderful language of the heart. I love being able to teach students of all ages to enjoy, master and share this amazing instrument.
I have been a piano instructor at Grace Christian Academy for twenty-six years and offer lessons both at the school and at my home near Accokeek, Maryland. Students who are part of the Avrick Piano Studio and students who are part of the GCA School of music are all considered part of the same studio.
A member of the Music Teachers Assoc. of Charles County, Maryland Music Teachers Assoc and the Music Teachers National Assoc., my students prepare and take yearly Keyboard Musicianship Tests and participate in the Annual Sonatina and Sonata Festival put on by MTACC. Each year students have the opportunity to perform in several recitals. Having held many different offices in the MTACC, including Secretary, Vice President for Student Activities and President, I value this professional community and will continue to be active in this great association going forward.
I give weekly lessons in 30, 45 or 60 minute segments, depending on age and level studied. Lessons may start when the student is in first grade and is reading well. Ages range from 6 through adult.
